Wood Memorial Junior High/Wood Memorial High School

  1. Be directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools.

  2. Participate through the Superintendent in the development of recommendations for policies

    and regulations necessary for the operation of the school.

  3. Lead and direct school personnel in all facets of the instructional program.

  4. Be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school.

  5. Evaluate all members of the staff, both certified and non-certified, in accordance with Board

    policy. The Principal shall make recommendations to the Superintendent for staff selections

    or terminations.

  6. Supervises all certified, non-certified, and administrative personnel in the building.

  7. Be responsible for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations.

  8. Provide leadership in the development, revision, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum to

    meet the needs of the students and community and assist with evaluations of student progress

    toward stated educational objectives.

  9. Actively participate in recruiting, screening, interviewing, training, assigning and hiring of

    the certified staff.

  10. Conduct staff meetings as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.

  11. Cooperate with college and university officials regarding teacher training and assistance.

  12. Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the attendance and progress of students and

    assume responsibility for the attendance of students under the laws of Indiana.

  13. Attend all special activities held to recognize student achievement, and attend or provide for

    supervision of school sponsored activities, functions or events.

  14. Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according

    due process to the rights of students.

  15. Assume responsibility for classification, promotion or retention of students.

  16. Assist with conferences of parents and teachers when asked.

  17. Supervise and evaluate the extra-curricular programs and staff.

  1. Supervise and assume responsibility for the preparation, accuracy, and timely submission of all local, district, State and Federal reports.

  2. Act as a liaison between the school and the community.

  3. Delegate authority to responsible personnel for the school in the absence of the principal.

  4. Plan and supervise fire and tornado drills

  5. Have first hand knowledge of school disaster plan.

  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Board.

Job Qualifications:

  1. The building level Principal shall have earned a Master’s Degree or higher, preferably with a

    major in School Administration, and be able to qualify for a valid Indiana certification to

    practice as a School Principal.

  2. The Principal shall have at least three years experience as a classroom teacher.

  3. The Principal shall be able to provide leadership for the building and staff.

Length of Contracts:
Wood Memorial Junior High/Wood Memorial High School Principal – 10-month contract (200 days), no paid vacation days.

Qualifications:

It shall be the policy of the Board of Education to employ on the instructional staff only those persons who hold at least a bachelor’s degree with an academic major in the appropriate subject field or grades and an acceptable teacher’s license valid in the State of Indiana.

Certification:

Description:

The 4T Manufacturing director/instructor will be responsible for the instruction and coordination of the 4T Manufacturing Academy at Princeton Community High School. The 4T Manufacturing Academy is a collaboration between North Gibson, East Gibson and South Gibson School Corporation to provide students with hands-on learning opportuntities in the field of advanced manufacturing, which will include on-site training and experience at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana. Students will be paid for their on-site training experience at Toyota during their senior year of high school.

Job Summary/Duties:

  1. Build strong, trusting relationships with high school students.

  2. Provide effective instruction to students in Advanced Manufacturing and other related

    courses.

  3. Effectively collaborate with multiple partners including all Gibson County high schools and

    middle schools, industry partners, related career and technical education teachers, and

    community stakeholders.

  4. Direct, develop and grow the 4T Manufacturing Academy.

  5. Maintain complete and accurate student records.

  6. Consult with parents in regards to student academics and personal behavior as needed.

  7. Report suspected neglect or child abuse to appropriate authorities in a timely manner and

    effectively communicate such concerns with administration.

  8. Participate in staff meetings and professional development as assigned.

  9. Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.

  10. Carry out other essential duties, such as before and after school supervision duties as

    assigned by the building principal.

  11. All additional duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.

181 Day Teaching Contract: Additional summer employment may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of Director of the academy. Additional compensation will be provided. Salary will be determined based on the bargained North Gibson Teacher Master Contract.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of an associate’s degree with 5 years manufacturing experience, or an Indiana State 2. Teaching license in a related Career and Technical Education area.
3. Valid Indiana Teaching License or the willingness and ability to obtain and Indiana Workplace

Specialist teaching license.
