2. Master the necessary content knowledge and skills to 

successfully teach assigned content area(s) and grade level(s) 

3. Develop dailyn and unit lesson plans and a scope and 

sequence that are thoughtful, goal-oriented and aligned with 

curriculum and carefully planned for substitute teachers when 

unable to attend school

4.  Develop positive appropriate relationships with students, including 

explicit recognition of their growth (i.e., positive calls home, notes, 

etc.)

5. Consistently implement the school-wide student management policies 

within the classrooms and throughout the school campus

6.  Communicate regularly with parents

Wood Memorial Junior High Secretarial Aide


Purpose of the Position:  

A school secretary performs a variety of secretarial and bookkeeping duties. Serves as secretary to WMJH/WMHS Principal, Assistant Administrator and staff. The position requires a thorough knowledge of all school functions, procedures and policies.. Completes duties assigned by building principal or administrator assistant.


Minimum Requirements:  

         1.   Reports to and receives work assignments assigned by building principal. 

      2.   Answer door bell, greeting, screening visitors and directing them 

             appropriate location. 

      3.   Answers telephone screening calls, transferring calls, responding and/or   

             taking messages. 

      4.   Performs general secretary and clerical functions (e.g. copying, faxing, data 

            entry, filing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting office operations. 

      5.   Assist athletic secretary when deemed necessary

      6.   Collect textbook fees and distribute receipts. 

      7.   Maintain enrollment and daily attendance for students. 

      8.   Receive, sort and distribute U.S. Mail. 

      9.   Prepare requisitions for transportation and maintenance departments

    10.   Be sure every bus drivers license are valid, physicals updated, insurance 

            paperwork, activity bus training, bus inspection paperwork

    11.   Keep asbestos logbook updated.

    12.   Other duties assigned by the building principal.


Minimum Requirements:

Knowledge of the computer and being able to access the internet to find further instruction.  Knowledge of  typing and keyboarding skills.
