Message from the Superintendent

“We Are Trojans”

Dear Wood Memorial Jr/Sr. High Students and Parents/Guardians,

While it is a time when there is a great deal of unknowns, I still look forward to transitioning to the Superintendency.    My passion for educating children has been shaped over the past eighteen years in  Spencer,Vanderburgh, and Gibson  counties as a social studies teacher, football coach, assistant principal, principal, director of student services, ,chief leadership strategist, and most recently a return to the principalship at Wood Memorial Jr/Sr. High School   In each position it has always been my goal to provide every child who walks through the door with an opportunity to learn and participate in extracurricular activities in a school with a culture and climate that promotes excellence.

A well rounded education means rigorous academic instruction from top-notch teachers as well as opportunities outside the classroom for students to develop character and cultivate passions.  Most importantly, an excellent education is a collaboration between students, parents and staff. With hard work and enthusiasm, I hope to become an integral part of the community, working together with all of you to carry on old traditions and create new possibilities for the students at East Gibson Schools.

I encourage you to take advantage of the Harmony online system in order to gain information about the academic progress of your student.  Information is updated on a weekly basis, providing you with the latest data.  For questions regarding Harmony you may contact the office for assistance.  I am looking forward to a great year!

Yours in Education,

James  Wilson
