SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDES

(2) Special Education Aides for East Gibson School Corporation Student. Student will attend Special Education Program at Gibson Southern High School Six (6) hours/day, Monday-Friday, 8:15-2:15

Student hours are 8:30 - 2:00 Monday - Thursday and 8:30 - 11:30 on Friday

Aides will use extra 15 minutes on Monday - Thursday to get organized and have student at the door to meet the bus.

After student leaves on Friday, aides will use the remainder of the day to plan for the following week and meet with the team as needed.

The assistants will be responsible for the following:
Follow the curriculum provided by the teacher and modify as needed for the student Create choice boards for expressive communication and work responses
Trained and support body mapping and communication for the student
Trained and support body regulation strategies
Prepare and support student at lunch

EAST GIBSON SCHOOL CORPORATION

Position: Dyslexia Trained Employee

2019-2020 School Year

A School Corporation must have an employee who has successfully completed an Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) approved training program in dyslexia - “an authorized reading specialist trained in dyslexia”.

The designated employee will lead dyslexia work with all students in all grade levels (PK-12). They will work with teachers as a resource to provide information on dyslexia and guidance on interventions, identification, and screening of students - Advisory Role.

Funds may be available to be offered as reimbursable scholarships to teacher(s) receiving pre-approval to pursue certification.

Extra-Duty Pay Schedule
Designated Dyslexia Trained Employee: $400.00
